Chordists are a type of character in The Blackout Club (game).
Description[ | ]
Chordists are said to be beyond lucidity and serve SPEAK-AS-ONE willingly. They often have talent with music or code.[1] At the direction of The Voice, Chordists encode what the Voice views as the "truth" into the Song from mass, rapid data.[2] This truth is memories of SPEAK-AS-ONE's living and dead hosts, as judged to be truth by the Voice.[3][4] Chordists often possess skill for coding or music, and perform an unknown process likened to transcription to encode truth into the Song.[1] Chordists must remain neutral, a difficult task not impossible with discipline.[5] Not much is known of Chordists, despite their vital role in the continuing composition of The Song. Watchers often mention they must report back to a Chordist, and sometimes fear being marked late.[6][7] Some Watchers have worried about expressing doubt, and worried about the Voice or a Chordist judging them fit to be purged from the Song during the Harvest. Despite these fears, Watchers seem to believe truly that when culling occurs, it is "deserved".[8]

Trivia[ | ]
- A player once commented "I'm secretary in an organization I run and record the minutes of all our meetings with 26 people", and followed commenting they had a "1930s typewriter", to which Developer Nullspeak replied, "Chordist Confirmed". [9]
