(To give some context, I sent TID a LoR asking if we could do some investigation into the Hunger curse. I figured if we could satiate his hunger, maybe he would stop feeding and alter his nature.)

(Eye closes on the screen.)

THEE-I-DARE: THE HUNTER'S NATURE IS PART OF YOU.

RinLeonhart: (after plugging in my mic) Hello. Um… Well, I suppose every person has a primal side. It wouldn't surprise me to find out that, uh, he was in some way a part of all of us.

THEE-I-DARE: HUNGER. AMBITION. WE STARTED THERE

RinLeonhart: I mean, I agree that we started there, but that doesn't mean we have to end there.

THEE-I-DARE: JUST AFTER WE PARTED FROM MY MAKERS

RinLeonhart: Well, whenever anyone starts out, they always have a bit of ambition. I was just kind of hoping that in some way understanding what drives him might help us defeat him.

THEE-I-DARE: I UNDERSTAND. I THINK...TO THINK OF US AS SEPARATE SPIRITS… IT CAN MISLEAD. WE COME FROM YOU.

RinLeonhart: I mean, that makes sense. Your kind seems to have… like a set of ethos, more or less, that have been derived from us.

THEE-I-DARE: HIS NATURE IS ROOTED IN YOURS, BUT...IN THE PAST, TO COUNTER US...PROGRAMS OF SUPERSTITION EXISTED TO MAKE PEOPLE FLINCH FROM INSTINCT

RinLeonhart: (mulling over programs of superstition) … Oh! I understand.

THEE-I-DARE: TO IGNORE THAT PART OF THEMSELVES

RinLeonhart: I'm guessing that's how the Olympian was born? It wasn't until the primal became more, um, civil and honorable?

THEE-I-DARE: AN ASTUTE QUESTION. YES, USUALLY… WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO ALTER US… A COMPETING VOICE IS BORN.

RinLeonhart: Interesting. Well, I'm not normally for altering people, but the Hunter has taken a pretty violent turn lately, and I'm sure somebody has already told you about his latest… announcement, I guess we'll call it. His prancing around and peacocking.

THEE-I-DARE: YES.

RinLeonhart: Yeah, so basically I was kind of wondering if there's anything I can do that might stop him from doing that? I mean, I realize that to try and change his nature at this point is probably going to take much longer than we currently have.

THEE-I-DARE: AT BEST WE MIGHT… BOX OR BIND HIM

RinLeonhart: That would work for a little while, but eventually we're going to need a better plan than that. But as of right now, it's the best thing I've heard so far.

THEE-I-DARE: WELL, OUTSIDE OF REDACRE...HE WOULD HAVE FAR LESS SWAY ON YOU

RinLeonhart: That's fair. But since we're in Redacre, we kind of have to deal with what we have. I had just hoped that maybe by curbing his appetite it might alter him enough that… he might just change slightly and decide to stray away from violence.

THEE-I-DARE: THOUGH WE ARE ALL BORN OF OLD TONGUE… WE ARE MORE INTRICATE THAN A CURSE.

RinLeonhart: (laughs) Well, I'll definitely agree with that. Though I suppose one's nature at times can feel like a curse.

(I missed a message. RIP. Did not see the Eye close. Yes, I'm mad about it.)

RinLeonhart: Is there anything I can do to help with the boxing and binding? Since that seems to be your current plan of action.

THEE-I-DARE: WE MIGHT SILENCE HIM, AS HE DID HER.

RinLeonhart: That's kind of what I was hoping for. And I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the poetic justice.

THEE-I-DARE: GAIN HIS TRUST, OR THAT OF MY MAKERS

RinLeonhart: Well, I currently have a clean slate with both of them.

THEE-I-DARE: THEY BOTH KNOW SOME OF THE TONGUE

RinLeonhart: Okay.

THEE-I-DARE: THEY WILL NEVER SHARE IT WITH US

RinLeonhart: No, I don't suppose they would. Uhh, I was a little worried, given my devotion to the Endmother, that they would be unwilling to tell me anything of worth.

THEE-I-DARE: IT MAY BE DIFFICULT, YES. IN TRUTH… WE NEVER KNOW IF THEY WILL BITE

RinLeonhart: That is true. I shouldn't give up before I even try.

THEE-I-DARE: AND OF COURSE, WE STILL NEED HER

RinLeonhart: Yeah, she uh… (laughs) she's being a little stubborn about that whole aspect. I'm not really sure how to sway her at this point. My one saving grace is that I don't think she means to not help you guys. I think she just doesn't want to be bound by a set of rules. So at least she may be willing to still help.

THEE-I-DARE: I THINK SHE WANTS OUR SECRETS TOO

RinLeonhart: Uhh, probably. Everyone wants secrets, right?

THEE-I-DARE: YES. MY TIME HAS BURNED. BUT…

RinLeonhart: Okay.

THEE-I-DARE: TELL HER. ALONE, SHE CANNOT BEAT HIM

RinLeonhart: I will try. I'm not sure if she'll believe me, but I will try.

THEE-I-DARE: GOODNIGHT AND SURVIVE, RIN

RinLeonhart: Thank you. It was very nice to meet you.
